BEAST international film festival
Bojana Videkanic has been invited to present a masterclass at BEAST International Film Festival in Porto, Portugal. The class is related to her upcoming book on nonaligned modernism as it arose from the politics of the emerging Non-Aligned Movement. She will discuss how visual culture of the nonaligned, in particular its films, but also exhibitions, and art, celebrated, promoted, and built a new visual sensorium that corresponded to the politics of liberation, solidarity, and sovereignty among the postcolonial nations in the 20th-century.

BEAST International Film Festival is illuminating the East European cinema landscape. Emphasizing Balkans, Baltics or Post-Communism, BEAST opens a cultural umbrella covering 21 countries, with an unique representation focusing on new works, new talents presenting the new faces of the New East.

The festival is establishing itself as a complex channel of contemporary culture From Eastern Europe to Portugal, focused on cinema but extending its program with parallel activities such as exhibitions, masterclass sessions workshops and related industry events.
