Submissions for a Site-Specific Exhibition at the Chemical Engineering building on campus are now open for all UWaterloo Fine Arts students!!! The proposals are due by JANUARY 22, 2024 at 3:30PM.
The exhibition will run from February 5th to March 15th 2024 on the second and third floors of Engineering 6 and in the glass walkway on the third floor between Engineering 6 and 7. The call has a thematic request for artwork that actively plays with light and shadow along with work pertaining to topics of equity, diversity, inclusion, and other social issues.
The exhibition will be divided into two sections, though the artwork from both are part of the same show. The first part (in Engineering 6) is open to all Fine Arts student from 1st year through to MFA. The second part (the glass walkway) is not open to 1st and 2nd year students, only 3rd/4th year students and the graduate/MFA Fine Arts students.
- Part 1: Submission proposals for previously created work or work made to complement the space. This section is Open to ALL Fine Arts students regardless of their level of study.
- Part 2: Submission proposals for the glass walkway connecting ENG 6 to 7 for custom vinyl transfer work to be adhered to windows or other work that will play with light and shadow from the windows. This section is ONLY open to 3rd/4th year students and the graduate/MFA Fine Arts students and, for students who choose to use vinyl transfer, funding is provided to cover the cost of the vinyl through partnership with the Department of Chemical Engineering.
