Ignition 10: Hamilton Artists Inc.’s Award for Distinction in the McMaster and Waterloo Visual Art Programs

Congratulations to Waterloo Fine Arts students Santosh Chandrasekar and Wen Li who have received the 10th annual Ignition Award for Distinction along with McMaster University students Hanan Abbas and PauTheRebel (Paula Rebello).

The online artist showcase will run February 4-March 12, 2022.

A launch party and awards ceremony will be hosted on February 5 from 2-4pm, and include talks by each of the artists. Everyone is welcome to watch through a YouTube livestream by visiting the Hamilton Inc. YouTube page at the time of the event.

The annual Ignition Award for Distinction is presented to graduating students in the McMaster and Waterloo visual art programs by Hamilton Artists Inc. (a Hamilton, Ontario artist-run centre). This award was established in 2013 in association with the Studio Art Program at McMaster University to honour exceptional graduating students with a professional exhibition at Hamilton Artists Inc. and dedicated mentorship. In 2021 the award was extended to include the University of Waterloo Fine Arts Department.
