Lumen at home logo; a virtual festival where art, light and tech meet

The annual Lumen festival has adapted in 2020 to a new format "Lumen at Home"; a virtual festival where art, light and tech meet. Visit online to enjoy interactive art installations that celebrate the intersections of light, art and technology.

This year's festival includes the work of several University of Waterloo Fine Arts current students and Alumi:

  • Washing Rice — a two-channel video by second-year MFA Racquel Rowe
  • There is no u-haul big enough for my move to sky castle — an exhibition curated by Lauren Prousky (MFA 2019) including works by recent UWaterloo undergrads Christie Shen and Joann Sparkes.
  • Laura Watson's video Spell for the End of the World was animated by Fine Arts Alumus Ken Cooper (BA 2014).
  • The Button factory photography exhibition The Once Unknown includes work of Fine Arts Alumni Sepideh Dashti and John Hofstetter and particular congratulations to Fine Arts student Kate Short, the winner of the exhibition Grand Prize.

Head to the Installations page to watch the artist's exhibit their work online through videos and an online gallery, with more to be released throughout October.
