The Olga Korper Gallery presents "pieces of you are pieces of me" artist talk, lois andison in conversation with Bojana Videkanic, on Saturday, July 6 at 2 pm.
lois andison's exhibition pieces of you are pieces of me, is a homage to the interconnectness of all life. In both text and photo-based works andison centers stewardship by positioning the artist as creator, collaborator, and caretaker. She unpacks female labour, often unacknowledged and uncredited, in speculative narratives that pertain to a dying world. Finding discarded mussel and oyster shells andison formulates a means to (re)give them agency in her kinetic sculptures to celebrate their extraordinary beauty and resilience.
