SARAH KERNOHAN: Collections. Deposits. Processing. Making.

Sarah Kernohan X-Camera speaker posting
As part of Inter Arts Matrix's X-Camera Speaker Series, Fine Arts Alumna Sarah Kernohan will speak about her approach to the landscape, based on memory and the recall of natural imagery.  The talk is on Friday December 6, 2019 at noon (doors open at 11:30) at Fresh Ground, 256 King St. E., Kitchener, Ontario.  Bring your own brown bag lunch, or get a vegan lunch at the Fresh Ground Café next door.  (This is a SCENT FREE event).

Her work responds to reference photographs and physical materials collected in various places. Her drawings are developed through exploring the process by which materials settle into place over time: finding traces of erosion and the influences of massive tides on soft rock surfaces; recording a landscape in transition. In her X-camera talk, she will discuss how the objects and photographs that she collects in these places inform the development of her work, and sometimes become the subject of her work.
