Eve
Kliman
taught
Art
History
in
the
Fine
Arts
department
for
twenty
years
and
she
contributed
significantly,
along
with
Virgil
Burnett
and
Nancy-Lou
Patterson,
to
integrating
art
history
with
studio.
Eve
began
her
career
at
Waterloo
as
a
Lecturer
in
Fine
Arts
in
March
1974,
the
same
year
that
Fine
Arts
became
a
Department
in
the
Faculty
of
Arts.
After
completing
her
PhD
thesis
Eugene
Delacroix:
A
Study
of
Selected
Paintings,
Watercolours,
Pastels,
Prints
and
Drawings
of
the
Feline
at
the
Unversity
of
Toronto
she
became
an
Assistant
Professor
January
1,
1978
and
an
Associate
Professor
in
1987.
In
1982
she
was
awarded
the
Arthur
Kingsley
Porter
Prize
for
best
article
by
a
young
scholar
in
art
history
in
North
America
for
her
paper
“Delacroix’s
Lions
and
Tigers:
A
Link
between
Man
and
Nature”.
She
retired
under
the
Special
Early
Retirement
Program
July
1,
1996.
Eve
passed
away
July
27,
2015
