The department’s painting and drawing studios are located in East Campus Hall (ECH) 1218 and 1224. Students enrolled in these classes have 24-hour access to these studios. In addition, painting students are given space within the classroom to leave work in progress. The department also has 40 Klopfenstein Pro Easels (see the instructions for properly using these easels (PDF) ) and a ventilated, enclosed spray booth.

Supplies for purchase through the tool crib:

  • Stretcher bars and cross bars
  • Masonite panels 1/8” thick
  • Drawing Boards
  • Paper (Stone Henge, Maid Stone, Terraskin, Japanese Kozo, Mylar, Art Print Vellum and others)
  • Plexiglass, copper and 3/8” birch plywood
  • Canvas (on the roll)
  • Digital Printing (on the Epsons 9890)
  • Easel pegs
  • Drawings materials (conte, ink, charcoal pencils, permanent marker)
  • Paints and mediums (oil, acrylic, retarder, gloss medium, Gamsol)
  • Gesso
  • Brushes
