Xuan Ye 叶轩 works in art, music and technology. Their work has appeared at the Kamias Triennial (2024), MOCA Toronto (2022), UCCA Center for Contemporary Art (2022, Shanghai), UQAM (Montreal) and Venice Architecture Biennale (2021), Peer to Space (2021, Berlin), MUTEK Montreal (2020), Fonderie Darling (2020, Montreal), the Art Gallery of Ontario (2019, Toronto), Vivid Projects (2019, Birmingham), the Inside-out Art Museum (2018, Beijing), the Goethe-Institut (2018, Beijing), among others. Their multifaceted practice has been featured and reviewed in Canadian Art (Winter 2020), ArtAsiaPacific (Issue. 111), KUNSTFORUM (Bd. 257), Musicworks (Issue. 136), and Bandcamp Daily (Best Experimental Albums). They authored the article Smaller, Slower, Sloppier highlighting the collective dynamics and the progressive blending of human and cybernetic intelligence in creativity (2024, published by The Digital Review). They were an artist-in-residence awarded by the Swiss Arts Council in 2023, a finalist of EQ Bank digital artist awards in 2018, and a recipient of scholarships and project grants from Canada Councils for the Arts and the SSHRC.
