A scholarship valued at $2,000, will be awarded annually to a graduate student registered full time in the first year of either a Master's or Doctoral program in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management in the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo. This fund is made possible by donations from friends and family of Dr. Bruce Mitchell, in honour of his outstanding career at the University of Waterloo.
The value of the Award will be determined by the income generated by the Fund each year. The goal is to provide at least one Award valued at $2,000 annually. The value and/or number of Awards may change from year to year.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
