Global Governance Doctoral Fellowships, valued between $25,000 - $35,000 annually, will be awarded to eligible graduate students who are registered full time in their first year of the PhD Global Governance program in the Faculty of Arts or Faculty of Environment. Selection will be based on academic achievement - normally a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent over the last two full-time academic years. Recipients will normally be selected in the Winter term based on their application for admission to the graduate program. This fund is made possible by a donation from Jim Balsillie.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
