Students in the Master’s of Arts in Global Governance who are not currently in receipt of a Balsillie School of International Affairs (Balsillie)/Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) Fellowship or who hold a Balsillie/CIGI Fellowship and choose not to use the Balsillie/CIGI Fellowship toward the internship component of the degree may be eligible for consideration of this award valued at a maximum of $1,500. Students who choose to count their Fellowship as their internship are ineligible for this award. Decisions relating to the allocation of internship awards, and the amounts awarded to each recipient are made by the Director of the Master’s of Arts in Global Governance program. Decisions are based on the anticipated costs associated with a particular placement, considerations related to financial need, as well as the availability of awards. Priority will be given to students who do not hold paid internships.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
