One or more awards, valued at up to $5,000 each, will be provided each term to full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a Computer Science program and undertaking a one-term or two-term CS Capstone team project or a one-term eCapstone team project. Selection will be made at the end of each term and is based on the team that is most likely to transform their project into a startup, who will continue working on their project/startup full-time for the foreseeable future, and who is likely to see commercial success. Award funds totaling $5,000 will be distributed equally among the winning team members. This fund is made possible by a generous donation from alumnus Sam Pasupalak (BCS ’12).

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
