Tuition waiver for eligible Indigenous students
The University of Waterloo will waive tuition for incoming and current Waterloo students who are members of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation or Six Nations of the Grand River.
Indigenous students who are members of these bands (on whose traditional territory the University of Waterloo is situated) and are pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies at Waterloo are eligible for this waiver. This is part of Waterloo’s ongoing work toward reconciliation and is a response to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
*For the purpose of awards, an Indigenous person is one who is a citizen or member of a First Nations community (Status/Non-Status), Métis, and/or Inuit. To protect the integrity of Indigenous candidates, students are required to complete the Indigenous Declaration section in Quest in accordance with the Indigenous verification process as outlined on the Office of Indigenous Relations website.
