The University of Waterloo is pleased to be a participating institution with the Government of Brazil Doctoral Scholarship Program through the CNPq (the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) scholarship program.
The University of Waterloo is a member of the CALDO consortium, an association of Canada's leading research universities committed to international education. CALDO is currently working with these Latin American countries: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
To promote long-term collaboration and exchange in graduate education, CNPq and CALDO Member Universities agree to establish a graduate co-funding program ("CGFP") for Brazilian doctoral students to study and conduct research at a CALDO Member University with funding provided jointly through CNPq and the CALDO Member University.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
