The Centre for Work-Integrated Learning is seeking 12-15 graduate students from various areas of study and programs (i.e., research-based Masters, course-based Masters, PhD) to participate in a 1-hour focus-group, to take place in late January or early February (date TBD based on student availability). We are seeking domestic and international students with previous experience in a work-integrated learning experience (e.g., co-op, internship, etc.), or those who are expecting to participate in the future, at the University of Waterloo. The total amount of your time you would be expected to give by participating is 1-hour. All participants will receive $10 on their WatCard as a thank-you for participating.
The purpose of this focus-group is to gain insight from the graduate student perspective on how the institution can better prepare graduate students before going on a work-integrated learning experience via an online pre-experience course. Your insight into how the institution can better prepare graduate students for work-integrated experiences will go to improving the graduate student experience across the University for years to come. If you are interested in participating, please contact Adam Cornwall by email.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
