A holiday message from Feridun Hamdullahpur, President and Vice-Chancellor to students, faculty and staff:
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
The holiday season is a wonderful time to pause and celebrate our accomplishments as we look forward to an exciting year ahead filled with new opportunities. Our students have flourished and have much to be proud of, our faculty and researchers are pushing the boundaries of discovery and guiding our best and brightest, and our dedicated staff continue to enable our university to succeed.
The end of a year is a natural time to look back, but our community of students, faculty and staff never rest on the past but strive to reach higher.
I am proud of your passion and thank each of you for adding to our successes.
In the spirit of giving and reflection, I wanted to share a short video message with you.
On behalf of the Office of the President and the entire University of Waterloo leadership team, I would like to wish you, your family, friends and colleagues a wonderful holiday season and a joyful New Year.
Sincerely,
Feridun Hamdullahpur

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
