Waterloo student sitting with their laptop

Every grad student has a story, and we want to hear yours!

Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) is launching the GRADstory project! We will be collecting stories from grad students related to different aspects of their graduate studies at the University of Waterloo, creating resources with practical advice and insights to be published on our website. This an opportunity to share your experiences, the successes and struggles, in a form that allows other graduate students to benefit and learn from them!

Some examples of what your GRADstory could be about are…

  • Your experience learning how to be a Teaching Assistant or Course Instructor, navigating your role as both a student and a teacher.

  • Participating in a professional development program, and how that has helped you plan out your future career.

  • How you have struggled to balance your responsibilities while maintaining your mental health, and what kinds of resources or services you’ve accessed for support.

  • Finishing your comprehensive exams and what you learned that might help other students prepare for theirs.

By participating, your profile will be featured on the GSPA website. You will be directly contributing to the graduate community and genuinely helping your peers navigate the opportunities and challenges of graduate studies. As a small thank you for your time, the first twenty participants will also receive a $20 gift card to the W Store.

Check out the GRADstory web page for more information on how to participate and how we will share your story!
