Awards valued at up to $5,000 will be provided annually to graduate students who are currently registered full time (or who were last registered within the last two academic terms) in the Faculty of Mathematics. The nominees must have authored or co-authored an outstanding research paper as of January 31st in the year of selection. Students must be nominated by their supervisor, with the final selections made by the Faculty of Mathematics Research Advisory Committee. The Faculty of Mathematics Graduate Research Excellence Award is made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends, and is designed to recognize and celebrate research excellence.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
