The purpose of this award is to support graduate students in the Faculty of Science, in the Departments of Biology, Chemistry and Earth and Environmental Sciences, and the Schools of Optometry and Vision Science, and Pharmacy, who are engaged in research-based programs. It is also aimed at reducing Research Assistant (RA) funding requirements from supervisors to encourage greater capacity for graduate students, and at encouraging students and supervisors to work together to ensure timely completion of their programs.
$6,000 p.a for domestic doctoral students; $3,000 p.a. for domestic master's students; $3,000 for international doctoral and master's students.
Applicants must:
Master's students who direct transfer to doctoral studies after term three will have three terms of masters level support, followed by 12 terms of doctoral level support. If direct transfer happens later than term four, doctoral level funding will start in the first term of doctoral registration, but not extend beyond a total of 15 terms of funding.
