A focus on sustainable energy conversion and chemical production processes!

XiaoYu Wu is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. He obtained his PhD at MIT, and his MS and BS degrees in Zhejiang University. He is enthusiastic about sustainability, especially how clean technologies can impact sustainability and how developing countries can incorporate sustainability in the development.

Jinhe Zhang is a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He obtained his MS and BS degrees in Dalian University of Technology. Jinhe joined our research group in Spring 2022.

Soukaina Skribbe is a visiting student from RWTH Aachen University. She is doing her master’s in Chemical Engineering and is very committed to hydrogen-related topics. Soukaina joined the research group in Fall 2022 to help combine Canada’s high renewable energy generation potential with Germany’s growing clean energy demand.

May Farhad is a 2B mechanical engineering student at the University of Waterloo. She is passionate about renewable energy and sustainability, and their effects on developing and recovering communities. May is currently working with the group on a project that aims to use solar energy to power a device that purifies water.
