Today the University of Waterloo welcomed a group of delegates from the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). The group received a presentation and general overview of University of Waterloo academics, research, entreprenuership and experential learning. They participated in a round table discussion on a variety of curriculum development and teaching methodologies and met with Alumni from CUFE.

Visit from Tsinghua University

On the morning of July 29, 2019, Dr. Jim Rush, Vice-President Academic and Provost met with Dr. Qikun Xue, Vice-President of Research from Tsinghua University. The two VPs talked and reviewed the various collaborations between our two universities. The meeting strengthened our existing relationship and helps to further our collaborations to a new level.

Waterloo International is pleased to announce this year’s Staff International Experience Fund (SIEF) award recipients. The SIEF provides opportunities for staff members to travel to global peer institutions in order to exchange ideas and advance learnings with like-minded colleagues. It also serves as a chance to deepen Waterloo’s global relationships and forge new connections with innovative counterparts around the world.

June was a busy month for Waterloo International, as we hosted a number of delegations from around the world.  Our visitors came to us from, among other locations, Brazil, China, France, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Switzerland.  We were delighted to receive them, to share with them some of the University of Waterloo’s experiences and activities in research, learning, and service, and to hear from them about their achievements and priorities.  A photo from the visit of University of Bordeaux President Manuel Tunon de Lara and his team – from June 10th – appears below.

Vietnamese Delegation

On Wednesday, May 1, 2019 the University of Waterloo hosted a delegation from Vietnam. The visit highlighted the direction of UWaterloo for cooperation with Vietnam in the field of Science and Technology and to learn about training opportunities for their research and post-doctoral staff.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 we welcomed delegates from Brunel University London to The University of Waterloo to discuss present and future collaborations between our institutions.

The University of Waterloo visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in early March 2019. University officials had the opportunity to visit an exciting lab and participate at round table discussions. The University believes it is vital to strengthen relationships with key instututional partners around the globe and this visit to Hong Kong Polytechnic University is an example of UW's committment to building strategic international partnerships.
