On Friday September 21, 2018, delegates led by Theresia Bauer, Minister of Science, Research and Arts from Baden-Württemberg Germany, visited the University of Waterloo to discuss the bridging of science and economics in the automobile sector in regards to future mobility issues. The group toured WatCar during their visit. Existing and potential collaborations between the University of Waterloo and Baden-Württemberg were also explored.

Visit from IIT Tirupati and IIT Ropar

On Monday, September 17, 2018 the University of Waterloo met with delegates from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar to discuss opportunities for collaboration in student mobility,joint degree programs, research partnerships, and the possibility for establishing a Canada-India Center of Excellence at each IIT.

On Friday, September 14, 2018, the University of Waterloo welcomed Canada’s Ambassador to China, the Honourable John McCallum.  Meetings were held between university officials as well as delegates from Global Affairs Canada to learn more about UW’s international student recruitment and student experience as well as discuss UW’s industrial and innovation/commercialization partnerships and opportunities.

On Friday, September 7, 2018, leaders from the University of Waterloo welcomed delegates from Australian National University. Points of discussion included our co-operative program and student innovation.

Visit of Hohai University

Leaders from the University of Waterloo were delighted to welcome delegates from Hohai University in China. Points of discussion included various collaborations with the Water Institute and also the Faculty of Engineering such as research programs, faculty exchange, graduate exchange, and co-supervising graduate students.

Today, the University of Waterloo hosted a visit of Central University of Finance and Economics. Leaders from the University of Waterloo were delighted to welcome the delegation group, whose visit included discussions of the University of Waterloo's teaching methodology. In addition, the visit also included a tour of the Waterloo Campus, and a meeting with CUFE alumni. CUFE professor and former vice president, Junsheng Li, who is currently visiting the department of Statistics and Actuarial Science also  joined the CUFE delegation.

Representatives from the University of Waterloo were delighted to meet with leaders from University of Technology of Compiègne in France. With discussions focused around the University of Waterloo's innovation, student exchanges, and research collaborations, the visit also included a tour of the Accelerator Centre. As well, the delegates, along with leaders from the University of Waterloo, partook in the signing of a new international exchange agreement with the Faculty of Engineering.

Today, the University of Waterloo hosted a visit of Government of Punjab, India. The visit included discussions about the University of Waterloo's Co-operative Education, and also explored potential collaborations on student recruitment, joint academic and research. To better illustrate the former, the visit also included a meeting at OpenText Corporation, David Johnston Research & Technology Park.

A group of delegates from university institutions across Australia visited the University of Waterloo to discuss Waterloo's regional innovation ecosystem with an emphasis on research, experiential education and entrepreneurship. In addition, the visit included tours of numerous university-affiliated centres such as the Sedra Student Design Centre, Velocity Garage, and Communitech.
