From writer and podcast host Elamin Abdelmahmoud comes a one-of-a-kind reflection on Blackness, faith, language, pop culture and the challenges and rewards of finding your way in the world.

Elamin Abdelmahmoud is the host of CBC Radio’s daily arts, pop culture and entertainment show COMMOTION, and a former writer for BuzzFeed News. His work has appeared in the Globe and Mail, Maclean's, Rolling Stone and others.   

About facilitator Ola Idris   

Ola Idris is Sudanese raised in Kampala, Uganda and moved to Canada eight years ago. She is a political scientist, a budding creative and currently employed as a Community and Engagement Manager with the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism at the University of Waterloo. At heart, she is an evolving student of life, a friend, a lover of justice and community, and above all, a seeker of God.
