Wikipedia edit-a-thon: Women in STEMExport this event to calendar

Friday, December 8, 2017 — 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM EST

Women, trans, two-spirit and non-binary researchers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) regularly suffer from gender-based harassment and exclusion, a phenomenon that is reflected in their under-representation on Wikipedia.

University of Waterloo Library is hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to help counter this trend. Please join us in creating and improving Wikipedia pages that highlight the work of women, trans, two-spirit and non-binary researchers in STEM fields.

First-time and experienced editors welcome!

Free pizza and refreshments will be provided.

This event is one of numerous actions and events open to the entire university community to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, between November 23 and December 10.
