Summer is winding down and in a week we will see students returning to campus.  But before the madness of September returns, enjoy yourself with this weeks pictures.

projectorlocker

Special Collections & Archives is pleased to announce that we have furnished our Reading Room with an Epson Brightlink Pro projector (seen here being masterfully demonstrated by Martha) which will enhance our interaction with classes during presentations.
We have also been able to purchase lockers for patron use allowing them to safely store their personal belongings during research visits. A sit/stand work desk has also been installed in our Reading Room making our public computer more accessible.
We gratefully acknowledge that these purchases have been made possible thanks to funds donated to Special Collections & Archives over the past few years.  Photos submitted by Nick Richbell.

digital

A few pictures taken at the Digital Pedagogy Institute August 21nd.
This is Ryerson's 21st Century Library-charging station
- amazing study spaces - each floor has its own colour and theme interactive kiosks -'pod' workstations
- these have a space underneath for your bag and the chair/desk is easily moved for group work etc. After trying -them out, I can only describe them as 'superamazing!'
-student work/study space on the garden floor.
A bit more about Ryerson SLC:
- 2100 study spaces
- it's a smart building
- contains the writing center, English language skills, math tutoring, and their incubator

recycle

recycle

Members of the LIBgreen committee installing 13 redesigned waste and recycling stations on both levels of the Davis library. The committee is hoping to reduce recyclables going into the waste bin by having 'one stop disposing' of materials, better signage in more optimum locations. Photos submitted by Carl Nagel.

little library

little library

I built a Little Free Library during my vacation! This one will be for adult books and will be erected beside the well used Little Free Library we have for children in my community.  I am now in search of a profound quote to stencil on the back which will set the theme by which I decorate it.  Any suggestions? (Does anyone recognize the former Renison Librarian in the first photo?)  Photos submitted by Laurie Strome.

See you in September!
