Library staff work hard, but we know how to play hard, too! Check out all the fun we're having this summer...
Gail Henry went to the Pan Am games to watch some equestrian sports.
Beverly Hershey enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery while on a boat ride in Penatanguishene. She also went roller skating with her twin brother...look at those skates!
Sara Perkins's Library mug went camping with her in Michigan. "From there we did day trips to hike the dunes in Indiana and see the architecture of Chicago."
Helena Calogeridis went to Peru in May, where she saw, from the top: "Lake Huacachina's amazing oasis in the middle of huge sand dunes. My sister and I in front of a large terrace in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Locals on Lake Titicaca's 'floating islands,' and the unforgettable Machu Picchu."
Jessica Blackwell attended the Rare Book School program at the University of Virginia. "I stayed in 'The Lawn,' one of the residence buildings on campus, part of the original campus as planned by Thomas Jefferson and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The two other photos are of type that my class set, and the Vandercook Proof Press we used to print our set type."
Last week Sarah Brown stayed at a cottage just outside of Markdale (where Chapman’s ice cream is made!). "So we ventured in to town with the kiddos for a visit to the park followed by ice cream. Here they are holding hands and enjoying some ice cream! Patrick is pretty happy about all this but apparently ice cream is serious business for Greta." She does seem to love the wagon, though!
...and summer isn't over yet! Have a great long weekend!
