Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We definitely have a Valentine's theme going on today.
Sara Perkins shares this photo collage of the Musagetes' Rare Book display for Valentine's Day. "John Hofstetter helped find some love-themed titles and our co-op student, Marissa White, made the heart garland from the pages of some great love stories. In the spirit of architecture, building the heart was certainly a structural challenge!"
"In the Team Canada Olympic spirit watching Team Canada vs. Team USA on Wednesday morning." Sarah notes that she's wearing her "National Women’s Team Canada jersey signed by the entire women’s Olympic team!"
Alex Dobre submitted this photo from the Cataloguing Department. "We just love books!"
This rawring dinosaur on Mary Lynne Bartlett's white board is also getting into the Valentine's spirit. The dinosaur was drawn by Patrick Miller. Photo submitted by Mary Lynne.
"Our co-op student Marissa made heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies for all the students and staff at the Musagetes Library!" Photo submitted by Sara Perkins.
This week's throw-back photo
Our computers used to be much bigger! This photo was taken in 1981 when the University signed a contract with GEAC for the development and implementation of a materials acquisition sub-system (MASS) to operate on the Library’s computer system. Do you recognize who's loading the tape onto the computer?

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
