We received a colourful collection of photos this week...
Kathy had a fun (if warm) time at the American Library Association annual conference in Las Vegas. She met the Orange Man Group from Innovative Interfaces, the Emery-Pratt robot, Oscar, and lined up for a professional caricature courtesy of Thomson Reuters. Photo submitted by Kathy Szigeti.
Davis staff had to act quickly to protect library collections from a flood this week! Some items weren't so lucky. Photos submitted by Mary Lynne Bartlett and Troy West.
Derek watering the plants before taking off on vacation...luckily they survived until his return. Photo taken by Allison Murray and submitted by Derek Scoular.
Eva was excited to find copies of her latest book in the mail earlier this week: “Discovering and Using Historical Geographic Resources on the Web,” co-written with Larry Laliberte, brings back old maps in a digital era.
I had a student this week who, not only didn't remember card catalogues, but had never heard of them and couldn't even grasp the concept...feel old yet?

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
