Library Lens - Week 31

As exams come to an end, many library staff are still hoping for summer weather to come as we enter intersession.

optometry

"This is the School of Optometry's computer lab teaching space, and it's in the WLRC.  Pros: silent CPU'S, available to all, open bright space, amazingly comfortable desk chairs, tech support 1 floor away, right outside my office.  Cons: TBD."  Photo submitted by Laura Bredahl.

butterfly

"Caught this monarch butterfly during a walk in Frederick Olmsted designated park. (He did Central Park in NY)."  Photo submitted by Anne Fullerton, taken during her trip to Buffalo.

spoons

"Came across this spoon bloom while visiting Resource Sharing.  It hangs above Shirley Fraser's desk.  I wanted to bring it to my desk, but figured Shirley might notice it was missing." Photo submitted by Laurie Strome.

Anne

"I spent a few days in Buffalo with my sister Jane who is visiting from Switzerland.  Took selfies in front of a skinny mirror at the Albright-Knox Gallery.  (Lost the images from the fat mirror :) ).  Photo submitted by Anne Fullerton.

little library

"Came across a Little Library - closed for renovations! Great tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright house in the background." Photo submitted by Anne Fullerton.

reilly family

"This weekend we tried to get a picture of Christine Reilly with all of her grandchildren!  20+ takes and this was the best we got with crazy children.  My two kids on the right, and Susan's kids from Kazakhstan on the left!  Thought it might be fun to have a retiree on the lens :)."  Photo submitted by Jamie Reilly.

birthday

"Susie and I celebrated our birthdays with lunch at the Grad House." Photo submitted by Alex Dobre.

TRELLIS

The biggest news of 1998 was the launch of TRELLIS, a new automated library system which offers integrated access to the holdings of all three members of the TriUniversity Group of Libraries (TUG): the University of Waterloo, the University of Guelph, and Wilfrid Laurier University. We chose the name TRELLIS-a lattice used to support climbing plants-because we see our new system as a support for our students, faculty, and staff. The name also suggests growth, strength, branching out-all words that describe what a library system should be.  1997-1998 Annual Report
