Happy first week of February! This week's issue highlights some of the great work library staff are doing, welcomes a new face to the library and gives us a sneak peak at something fun that is happening next week. Enjoy!
Elizabeth Clarke, Executive Director KW YWCA is seated with Jane Britton, Head Special Collections & Archives who is discussing the Grenfell Mission Mat found in the YWCA’s collection by Jessica Blackwell, Special Collections & Archives Librarian while she was describing the collection. This mat will be donated by the YWCA to the Hooked Rug Museum of North America. An interesting feel good story of the connections of women’s work and women’s organizations in Canada. The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
