
Elshan has over 25 years of experience in international business and consulting, advising multinational corporations, industry associations and governments on wide variety of issues. Focusing on international relations and global energy security issues, Elshan has provided cutting edge research and analysis to private corporations and government agencies in Canada, the US and abroad. He has published numerous articles in leading English and Russian language press on political and energy developments, as well as written extensively for private clients.
In addition to his role as Business Manager, Elshan also has been teaching as a sessional instructor. He has been teaching economics courses at the Department of Economics and finance courses at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science.
Elshan holds MA (1995) in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Relations (SAIS) from Johns Hopkins University in the US, and earned BA (1988) and Doctorate (1992) degrees in Economics from the prestigious Plekhanov University of Economics in Moscow, Russia.
In his spare time, Elshan enjoys reading books on military history as well as chauffeuring his children to sporting events.
