Legacy projects
Anti-idling for service vehicles
When a diesel vehicles idles, significant amounts of fuel is burned to, for example, keep the cab cooled/heated or keep goods refridgerated. As a result, there is a high demand for new "green" systems that can produce the energy needed for these auxillary systems without burning diesel fuel.
Variable valve timing systems and air hybrid engines
The overall objective of air hybrid research is to improve fuel efficiency of combustion engines through air hybrid engine and variable valve train system development.
Smart tires
MVS are producing smart tires by embedding sensors to directly measure tire forces, inflation pressure, and road condition to reduce vehicle fatalities.
High-speed robotics
Companies are always seeking faster robots to increase their productivity, and parallel manipulators are capable of offering the speed that companies are looking for with a relatively low cost.
