Dawn Penner, a specialist in psychology/counseling and war trauma recovery, will speak about her time in Lebanon with Mennonite Central Committee. Over the course of three months, she trained Syrian and Palestinian refugees in trauma healing as a response to violence experienced in the Syrian conflict. A time for discussion and refreshments will follow the talk. Admission is free, with food and drinks provided. Donations are welcome.
This event is part of an ongoing collaborative with students from the Syrian, Peace and Conflict Studies and Conrad Grebel communities at the University of Waterloo.
