School of Planning’s Dr. John Lewis Welcomed as Director, Indigenous Faculty Relations

School of Planning faculty member Dr. John Lewis has been appointed as Director of Indigenous Faculty Relations, where he will oversee collaboration between the University and Indigenous stakeholders, such as the Indigenous Advisory Circle and external Indigenous communities. His appointment will support the University’s goal of Indigenizing and decolonizing the institution, helping implement initiatives associated with the 2023 – 2028 Indigenous Strategic Plan. 

“Offering faculty leadership and guidance in the process of reconciliation, decolonization, and the reclaiming of Indigenous identity and culture across the University is key to realizing our institutional goals. Dr. Lewis will provide critical perspectives and insights while working with our community in the implementation of our Indigenous Strategic Plan,” remarks Jean Becker, Associate Vice-President, Indigenous Relations. “We are thrilled to have his experience and expertise in this role.”
