The School of Planning’s Matthew Van Bakel (4B) and his team colleagues, Nathan Lee and Alan Mak, won 1st place for the third consecutive year at the 10th Annual Expand Your Empire case competition held over the January 27th weekend.
The Expand Your Empire case competition is the largest undergraduate real estate case competition where teams from across Canada and around the globe compete for a $10,000 prize. This year, the winning UWaterloo students proposed a feasible development that would provide students and new graduates with affordable housing in Toronto, with the potential to apply the concept across Ontario.
