The forthcoming conference: Waterloo for Health, Technology and Society, will explore the use of technology for safe and accessible health care by examining the status of virtual delivery of care, enabling emerging technologies, and ensuring ethical and safe interventions for the betterment of our society and improved public health outcomes.

You’re invited to the virtual health data seminar, titled ‘Using AI to advance health care in Canada’ on Wednesday, March 22, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Learn about opportunities for engagement and collaboration at T-CAIREM, a national network that engages 23 universities and 90 organizations across Canada in advancing AI in medicine.

You’re invited to Research Talks, a public event and panel discussion featuring guest speakers Mohamad T. Araji and Amelia Clarke - University of Waterloo, Matthew Day - WR Community Energy and Alex Tadesco - LGA Architectural Partners. Our four panelists will speak about environmental sustainability and innovative sustainable design.

The Indo-Pacific is rapidly becoming the global centre of economic dynamism and strategic challenge. Join Global Affairs Canada Director and subject matter expert, Audri Mukhopadhyay, who will provide his insights on the strategy and what it means for all Canadiana. Waterloo's Bessma Momani will lead the following discussion with participants.

The Waterloo Climate Institute is pleased to present “Understanding Canada’s National Adaptation Strategy”, a virtual panel on April 27th at 2:00pm that will explore the strategy and how it positions Canada to increase our resiliency to climate impacts.

You’re invited to the health data seminar on October 26 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to learn about opportunities to improve your access to health data. Dr. Jeff Latimer, the director of the Health Statistics Branch at Statistics Canada (StatCan), will break down how to engage and collaborate with StatCan to get access to their timely and relevant data on the health of Canadians.

Waterloo faculty and regional health-care partners are invited to the Graham Seed Fund Networking Event to learn more about the seed fund, hear about the available resources for collaboration with health-care partners in the Region of Waterloo, and engage with leaders and experts in health innovation. A hot lunch will be provided. Register by October 24 for refreshment planning and parking purposes.

Research Awards Celebration Gala

The next virtual Pivot-RP workshop for faculty members and graduate students is scheduled for Thursday, November 9 from 1-2:30 p.m. via MS Teams.

This session will include a review of the key functionalities of Pivot-RP for researchers. After a brief overview of Pivot-RP, the facilitator will move into a live demo covering topics such as claiming your profile, searching for funding, tracking, sharing and exporting funding opportunities, and highlighting available resources. The workshop will end with a Q&A.
