Opportunities

Students with demonstrated interest in the application of mathematical tools to the analysis and design of cellular and biomolecular networks are encouraged to join our research team. Ongoing projects involve experimental lab work, computational analysis, and development of new theoretical methods.

We recognize that equity and diversity are essential to academic excellence. We encourage applications from members of groups that have been historically marginalized on the basis of gender identity or expression, 2SLGBTQ+ status, racialization, ability status, religion, marital or family status, age, and/or identity as a First Nation, Metis, Inuit, or Indigenous person.

Those interested in pursuing graduate studies can apply through the departments of Applied Mathematics, Biology, or Chemical Engineering. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to make contact via email before submitting an application.

Students interested in undergraduate research opportunities are encouraged to apply through the NSERC USRA program, the Math Faculty's MURA program, or Waterloo's Work placement or Work study programs. Honours thesis projects (e.g. BIOL 499, PHYS 437) provide additional opportunities for engagement.

Postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to make contact. Funding opportunities are limited. Support may be available through the Department of Applied Mathematics and the Faculty of Mathematics, and the University of Waterloo.
