Program Elective Recommendation Notes

  • 100- and 200-level BIOL electives should be chosen to satisfy prerequisites for upper-year BIOL electives.
  • BIOL labs may be needed to satisfy prerequisites for upper-year courses.
  • BIOL 130L or BIOL 240L is recommended if BIOL 130 or BIOL 240 count as a BIOL elective.
  • HRM 200 and MSCI 311 are recommended program electives.
  • The represented sequencing of all elective types is suggestive only and can be taken in a different order, and different term, than what is shown, depending on the elective chosen, its term of offering and required requisites.

  • See Faculty of Science for  recommended course sequence
  • If you are interested in professional pathways (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, etc), these programs may require specific pre-requisite courses including but not limited to calculus, statistics, general, organic chemistry and/or biochemistry, introductory physics, specific biology courses, English and social sciences and/or humanities. These requirements differ between programs so please make sure to consult the admission requirements of the schools you would like to apply to and plan your courses accordingly. You should be able to use your Science Electives, Approved Courses and Elective to meet most admission requirements. Program Advisors may be able to help with course planning for these programs.
