Biography
Alexie Tcheuyap is Professor of French and Postcolonial Studies at the University of Waterloo where he also serves as Dean of the Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on literary, film and media studies in which he published extensively for reputable journals and presses. Among his book publications are Postnationalist African Cinemas (Manchester UP, 2011), Autoritarisme, presse et violence au Cameroun (Karthala, 2014), Avoir peur. Insécurité et roman en Afrique (Presses de l’Université Laval, 2018; with Hervé Tchumkam) and African Documentary Cinema (Routledge, 2024). Alexie Tcheuyap is a Senior Fellow of the European Institutes for Advanced Study and a member of Royal Society of Canada.
