Title: Lost and found?: a digital archive of testimonies of migration, displacement, and resettlement 

Abstract: This project centres on the homes that have been lost and found by refugees of the recent Syrian crisis. Experiences of urban life are negotiated in particularly complex ways by refugees moving across regions and nations in pursuit of home. In these movements, they expand the dimensions of home.

Congratulations to Dr. Kate Henne who has received the 2018 Critical Criminologist of the Year Award from the American Society of Criminology. The 2018 Critical Criminologist of the Year Award honours an early-to-mid-career scholar whose distinguished accomplishments symbolize the spirit of critical criminology and social justice. It is based on the assessment of one’s scholarship, teaching, and/or service in recent years.

Sarah Wilkins-Laflamme is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include quantitative methods, sociology of religion, immigration and ethnicity, and political sociology.

Toward the elimination of Islamophobia in Canada:

Kate is the principal and sole investigator on this grant which is entitled: Tackling a Silent Epidemic: Traumatic Brain Injury and Regulatory Science. It is a three-year research grant from the Australian Research Council in the amount of 357,000 AUD.
