Student Support

Academic and professional support units are available to assist graduate students throughout their tenure at the University of Waterloo. 

The Student Success Office (SSO) provides personal and academic supports to students, ranging from studying tips, to immigration advice, to leadership guidance for those seeking to develop their professional soft-skills. 

The Centre assists students with administrative tasks, such as financial support and WatCard access. 

The Library provides study space for students, access to thousands of databases, and virtual or in-person assistance for students struggling to source materials for their research. 

The Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) hosts workshops, events, and certification programs for students, offering them a foundation for academic and professional excellence. 

The Writing and Communication Centre provides support to students struggling with writing, paper revisions, and presentation building. 

The Centre for Career Development offers career counselling and guidance for students and alumni, with a team of qualified counsellors on standby to assist those mapping out their futures. 


Campus Wellness

The University of Waterloo places a heavy emphasis on the wellness of its students. Teams of dedicated professionals at Health Services, Counselling Services, AccessAbility, and Athletics are only ever a click or phone call away, with many of our services providing same-day appointments to students in need. It's ok to ask for help and work towards your best self. Our experts will help you get there.
