Olga Kanj
Olga Kanj completed her Ph.D. in Finance at Lazaridis School of Business and Economics in 2020. Kanj also holds an MBA in Finance and Economics and BBA in Banking and Finance from Notre Dame University-Louaize with highest distinction.

Kanj worked at Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation (PACICC) as part of her Postdoctoral Fellowship at Wilfrid Laurier University, Citibank N.A. prior to Ph.D. and is a co-founder of a prop-tech start-up.

Kanj’s current research and teaching interests revolve around the effect of diversity on risk management, innovation, and corporate governance. She is also interested in insurance-specific topics such as catastrophe bonds and insurance guarantee schemes.

Her research was presented at international annual meetings of the Financial Management Association, World Risk and Insurance Economics Congress, American Risk and Insurance Association, Southern Risk and Insurance Association, and Paris Financial Management Conference. She was invited to present her research at universities in Canada, Europe, and United States. She won the Ontario Graduate Scholarship for the 2019/2020 academic year and collaborated on securing Lazaridis Institute Research Seed Grant and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council-Partnership Engage Grant.
