Diribsa Tsegaye Bedada is a current PhD candidate in Biostatistics under supervisors Zelalem Negeri and Shoja'eddin Chenouri. Diribsa Tsegaye completed a Bachelor of Statistics from Hawassa University in 2011, and then obtained Master's degree in Applied Statistics, Addis Ababa University in 2016 and a Master's of Biostatistics from Stellenbosch University in 2021. Diribsa Tsegaye's research interests are Meta-analysis of diagnostic test studies using individual participant data and aggregate data; multivariate analysis; linear and generalized linear mixed models. 

Laura Bumbulis is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisor Richard J. Cook. Laura completed a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics and Combinatorics and Optimization from the University of Waterloo in 2022, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2024. Laura's research interests are multistate modelling, missing data, and two-phase designs.

Qianyu Chen is a current PhD candidate in Actuarial Science under supervisors Fangda Liu and Jun Cai. Qianyu obtained a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Mathematics from Xi'an Jiaotong -Liverpool University and University of Liverpool in 2022, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Actuarial Science from University of Waterloo in 2023.  Qianyu's research interests are: risk management.

Sijie Chen is a current PhD candidate in Biostatistics under supervisors Lan Wen and Michael Wallace. Sijie obtained a Bachelor of Arts Combined Major in Economics and Statistics from The University of British Columbia in 2017, and then completed a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2023.  Sijie's research interests are: causal inference.

Jisun Choi is a current PhD candidate in Actuarial Science under supervisors Ruodu Wang and Ben Feng. Jisun obtained a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Ewha Womans University in 2021, and then obtained a Master of Science in Mathematics from Sungkyunkwan University in 2023.  Jisun's research interests are: risk management.

Madison Cranstone is a current PhD candidate in Biostatistics under supervisor Cecilia Cotton and Lan Wen. Madison completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Statistics from University of Manitoba in 2022, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Biostatistics - Co-operative Program from University of Waterloo in 2024. Madison's research interests are Causal Inference, Machine Learning, Epidemiology, Clinical Trials, Infectious Diseases and Precision Medicine.

Olana Dabi is a current PhD candidate in Biostatistics under supervisor Zelalem Negeri. Olana completed a Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics from Hawassa University in 2011, and then obtained a Masters of Science in Statistics from Addis Ababa University in 2014, and a Masters of Mathematics in Biostatistics from the University of Waterloo in 2024.  Olana's research interests are Meta-analysis.

Rhoda Dadzie-Dennis is a current PhD candidate in Actuarial Science under supervisors Mary Hardy and Ben Feng. Rhoda obtained a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2018, and then completed a Master's of Science in Quantitative Finance from Lancaster University, UK in 2020.  Rhoda's research interests are: climate change modelling, portfolio optimization, monte carlo simulation, risk management. 

Ambrose Emmett-Iwaniw is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisor Christiane Lemieux. Ambrose completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Toronto in 2020, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2021. Ambrose's research interests are Variational Inference, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Quasi-Monte Carlo, Sequential Monte Carlo, Time Series Analysis

Dingding Hu is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisor Pengfei Li. Dingding obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2020, and then complete a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2021.  Dingding’s research interests are: Semi-parametric inference.

Muqiao Huang is a current PhD candidate in Actuarial Science under supervisor Ruodu Wang. Muqiao obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics in Pure Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2014, and then completed a Master of Arts in Pure Mathematics from York University in 2016.  Muqiao's research interests are: risk measures.

Taj Jones-McCormick is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisor Liqun Diao. Taj obtained a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Finance from the University of Guelph in 2021, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from University of Waterloo in 2022.  Taj's research interests are: Statistical Learning.

Andrew Kenig is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisors Shoja'eddin Chenouri and Lucy Gao. Andrew obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from Brock University in 2017, and then completed a Master of Science in Statistics from Brock University in 2020.  Andrew’s research interests are: Selective inference, quantile regression, variable selection.

Minzee Kim is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisor Joel Dubin. Minzee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Economics from the University of Toronto in 2020, and then completed a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2021.  Minzee’s research interests are: precision medicine, longitudinal data analysis, causal inference.

Kecheng Li is a current PhD candidate in Biostatistics under supervisor Richard J. Cook. Kecheng obtained a Bachelor of Economics in Statistics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in 2018, and then completed a Master of Mathematics in Biostatistics from the University of Waterloo in 2020.  Kecheng’s research interests are: causal inference, survival analysis, clinical trial design.

Xianwei Li is a current PhD candidate in Biostatistics under supervisor Richard Cook. Xianwei obtained a Bachelor of Economics in Financial Statistics and Risk Management from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in 2019, and then completed a Master in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2021.  Xianwei’s research interests are: Time-to-event data analysis, incomplete data analysis.

Chenxin Lyu is a current PhD candidate in Actuarial Science under supervisor Ruodu Wang. Chenxin completed a Bachelor of Science from The University of Hong Kong in 2022, and then obtained a Master of Philosophy in Mathematics from The University of Hong Kong in 2024. Chenxin's research interests risk management and operation research.

Rohit Gajendragadkar is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisors Jeffrey Negrea and Gregory Rice. Rohit completed a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2023, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2024. Ahmad Mozaffari is a current PhD candidate in Statistics under supervisor Shoja'eddin Chenouri. Ahmad obtained a bachelor’s degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Babol University of Technology in 2012, and then obtained a Masters degree in Master of Mathematics in Statistics, Master of Science in Systems Design Engineering from University of Waterloo in 20152017.  Ahmad’s research interests are: Functional Data Analysis, High-Dimensional Statistics, Manifold Learning, Change Point Analysis.

Yicheng completed a Bachelor of Economics in Economic Statistics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in 2023, and then obtained a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo in 2024. Austin obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics: Actuarial Science from The University of Texas at Austin in 2022.  Austin's research interests are: Stochastic Control for Insurance Problems, Reinforcement Learning, Actuarial Mathematics.

Zhiqiao Song is a current PhD candidate in Actuarial Science under supervisor Jun Cai. Zhiqiao completed a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Mathematics from Xi'anJiaotong-Liverpool University and University of Liverpool in 2021, and then obtained a Master of Science in Financial Technology from Imperial College London in 2022. Zhiqiao's research interests are risk management, quantitative finance and operations research.
