Meet your Advisors!

The SAS advisors are holding an informal advising session for all Statistics, Biostatistics, Actuarial Science and BMATH Data Science students. This is an opportunity to drop by, ask your questions, and learn more about how your advisors can support your academic career!

Light refreshments will be provided.

The SAS advisors are holding an informal advising session for all Statistics, Biostatistics, Actuarial Science and BMATH Data Science students. This is an opportunity to drop by, prepare for upcoming terms and find ways to finish off your term on a good note!

Instructions to access Advising

  1. Please see the schedule below to find out when you can talk with a SAS academic advisor. We're available virtually on MS Teams or in-person.
  2. Check our table of questions to see if your question is best answered by email.
  3. To get in line to meet an advisor, go to the SAS advising queue and log in to get a "ticket". 
  4. If you wish to meet virtually, make sure you can log into MS Teams using a browser or by downloading the mobile or desktop app. If using a browser, you may want to use Chrome as Safari and FireFox might have audio and feature issues.
  5. Log into MS Teams using your userid@uwaterloo.ca (not your friendly address of name.name@uwaterloo.ca). After this, you should be taken to UWaterloo’s authentication site.
  6. Log in using your UWaterloo credentials. You will then be taken to MS Teams. We will call you when it's your turn.
  7. If you wish to meet in-person, make sure you choose a day that has in-person availability. Select "in-person" when you take a ticket. At the start of the hour, please go to the waiting area between M3 2129 and M3 2131 and wait your turn.

Notes

  • To meet with an advisor virtually, you need access to a working webcam, microphone, a reliable internet connection, and that you are in a quiet location.
  • Disclaimer: advisors may not have time to see every student in line during a given timeslot. We will do out best to avoid this but please note that it could happen.
