As part of Welcome Week at uWaterloo Optometry and Vision Science, the Witer Learning Resource Centre will be providing demonstrations of our resources to 1st and 2nd year Doctor of Optometry students.

2nd year student sessions will take place Wednesday. The following survey will be published Wednesday morning to be completed during the sessions.

1st year student sessions will take place Thursday.

The second annual data management event at the University of Waterloo will take place on October 24th, and will entail a morning of lively presentations from researchers across various fields of study, and at different stages of data storage planning. The morning’s events will explore the unique issues facing researchers today as they decide where, how, and what data to store.

The Witer Learning Resource Centre will be hosting a Lunch & Learn workshop that will cover how to navigate the uWaterloo thesis template and adding/using referencing in conjunction with the thesis template.

This session is designed to get Optometry and Vision Science Masters and PhD. students' research off to the races. You will become acquainted with the Witer Learning Resource Centre, it's awesome staff, as well as the information, research, and learning resources available to you. This is a session that you won't like to miss. Get the ball rolling in the right direction! 
(Your attendance at this event will be recorded in your annual report documentation.)

Learn how to use the UW thesis template and incorporate your references when writing your MSc or PhD thesis. This is also an opportunity to ask questions and troubleshoot known problems.

This workshop will discuss the characteristics of a variety of review studies, including systematic reviews, scoping reviews, narrative reviews. Learn when and why to use and conduct these different forms of knowledge synthesis. The ‘gold standard’ components of the search methods used for systematic and scoping reviews will be outlined including the reporting standards.
