Thursday, June 16, 2016 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

1:5000/1:1 Context, Culture & Building Craft

Alison Brooks will discuss her practice’s current work, revealing their synthetic approach to the making of buildings and the making of cities, in the context of London’s resurgent urban culture.

Alison Brooks graduated from Waterloo Architecture in 1989. She moved to England, helped found Ron Arad’s firm and, in 1996, launched Alison Brooks Architect. Since that time she has won every major design award available in the UK. Architects Journal named Alison woman architect of the year in 2013. She was listed as one of the 500 most influential people in the UK by the Times of London and Bebrett’s in 2014. She is one of the most talented architects of her generation.

On Saturday, June 18, Alison will be the first Waterloo Architecture graduate to receive an Honourary Degree from our University.

Alison is immensely proud of the education she received at Waterloo. We in turn should celebrate her accomplishments.

Please join us for the reception at 6:00pm and lecture at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 16.
