To celebrate International Day of Pink (April 13) and Sikh Heritage Month, Waterloo Architecture has compiled a list of resources that are available for its community members.

Events:

April 20: Talking About Sikh Heritage Month: Online Conversation - 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Join us in a conversation about the true impact of diversity in children's books from Canadian-Sikh visionaries. We will be hearing from Navjot Kaur, author and founder of Saffron Press, as well as Rapinder Kaur, art therapist, registered psychotherapist, and founder of Art As Therapy.

April 23: Preserving and Digitizing Sikh Canadian Memories - Sikh National Archives of Canada - 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

Sikh National Archives of Canada is hosting a one day community scanning event to digitize memories and items of historical significance that you have at home by documenting the Sikh - Canadian experience. Once scanned digitally, the item can be made available for the public to view on the SNAC digital library.

International Day of Pink

Events:

April 13: Clock Tower Lighting - 8:00 - 11:00 pm

This tower lighting event allows Canadian registered charities and non-profit groups to recognize and celebrate special occasions and events which create a spirit of community, celebrate Mississauga’s diverse cultures and contribute to enriching the quality of life in our City.

April 14: Fasken International Pink Day Celebration - 6:30 - 8:00 pm

They will start with readings of two children’s storybooks, followed by a virtual drag show. They are thrilled to be joined by Anastarzia Anaquway, Scarlett Bobo, Quanah Style and Kiara for a very special evening of storytelling and performances.
