Longtime professor Terri Meyer Boake, who earned two undergraduate degrees at Waterloo and has been a teacher at her alma mater since 1986, will be honoured by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) at a conference in Charlotte, North Carolina in April.
Terri specializes in architecturally exposed structural steel and has published four books on the subject while teaching building construction, structures, environmental design and film at Waterloo.
“It’s always a pleasure to recognize the exceptional people who have driven our industry to where it stands today - and who continue to ensure a bright future,” Charles J. Carter, president of the association, said in a media release.
Based in Chicago, the AISC is a non-profit technical institute and trade association that was established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry.
Update, May 4, 2023. Canadian Architect has posted a news article announcing this recognition.
