Pedagogical Constructs

Spaces of Learning are changing radically as a result of the internet revolution, online education, and the democratization of information. Among other things, this has led us from a culture or specialization to inter-disciplinary collaborations, with teams of experts coming together to form much more sophisticated pedagogies for ever more complex societal challenges. However, the traditional school has not yet been re-evaluated for these changes in thinking, and thus, this is an opportunity to rethink the institution from the perspective of Spaces of Learning. This lecture will speak to three different institutions, each with broad ambitions in changing their way of learning and sharing information. The lecture will inspect new technologies, organizations, and the question of flexibility in a time where budgets and economies are being challenged in more stringent ways. So too, this is an opportunity to think of the new Space of Learning to become a didactic instrument, to teach by way of example, and to become a form of built pedagogy.
